FAQ

I don’t know when my Marine/Sailor is coming home, how do I book you for my homecoming?

I’m a military spouse myself so I understand how homecomings work. I don’t book homecomings by date but rather by unit or detachment, depending on the homecoming. Large detachments made up of multiple units, like the MEU or a SPMAGTF, I will book one client and open a waiting list until dates and times are announced.

How many images do I get with the session?

It depends on the package. I do promise a minimum of 30 images per hour.

What are “social media files”?

Social media files are images that have been optimized for social media use & display on digital devices. They are low resolution for faster upload, minimal compression issues, and take up less storage space. They are watermarked so you can easily tell the difference between then and high resolution images. They also have my information embedded in the file so that if something does happen and they are put up somewhere they should not be, it’s a much easier resolution getting them removed.

Do you give copyrights?

Simply put, no. If I were to sign over the copyrights of the images, I would have NO rights to them anymore including retouching, sharing for my portfolio or advertising, etc. I do include print releases with my high resolution images so that you can take them to your favorite printing service.

Do you offer wedding photography?

I do not offer wedding coverage, however, I do offer elopement packages.

Do you offer newborn photography?

No. There is a lot of safety training involved to ensure your little one doesn’t get hurt and I do not have that training.

What is your pricing?

My pricing for portrait session can be found here and my pricing for boudoir can be found here. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, let me know here.

Do you offer mini sessions?

Yes, we offer mini portrait sessions Monday-Thursday for select locations only. Themed boudoir minis vary by month, and can be booked Monday-Thursday.

Do you offer a military discount?

Not at this time. Most of my clients are military families so it would feel more like a civilian penalty instead.

Do you offer discounts?

I have a referral program across my business. If you refer a friend to me who books a session, you receive $25 off of yours (and yes, you can earn a free session this way). For boudoir, I have a Boudie Buddy discount. If you and a friend book for the same day (come in together, have separate sessions), you both receive a $50 discount (mention the boudie buddy discount when booking!). Homecoming clients also receive a discount on a portrait session once their service member returns.

I don’t know where I want to have my photo session, do you have any suggestions?

Absolutely! Part of the session planning process is helping you pick a location and the time is based off when lighting is best for that place! For example, downtown New Bern and the beach have completely different lighting situations and those sessions are scheduled at different times for best results.

What time are sessions?

For sessions on location, the typical ideal time of day is what is called “Golden Hour”; the hour immediately following sunrise and the hour preceding sunset. This does vary by location, locations with a lot of shade have a lot more wiggle room; the beach does not. Boudoir sessions usually start by 10am so we can take full advantage of the natural light in my studio.

Do you have a studio?

Yes, it’s primarily used for boudoir, headshots, and cake smashes.

I’m nervous, can I bring a friend to my boudoir session?

You are welcome to bring a supportive friend to a boudoir session, just please let me know ahead of time so I can accommodate her. However, if your friend is any form of negative to you or my team, she will be asked to leave immediately.

What should I wear for my boudoir session?

Once I receive your booking fee, I send an email with pre session information including a lingerie guide. The guide is great and includes more than just lingerie options that you may not have thought of before! We also have an extensive client closet featuring pieces in sizes xs-3x.

What do I need to do to book with you?

Fill out the contact form and we can start planning your session! I do require a $100 retainer to confirm your booking and the balance is due the day before your session.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, we do! There is a $100 non refundable retainer due to confirm your booking. We can set up your invoice to accept partial payments, allowing you to pay for your session a bit at a time. Payment in full is still due the day before your session, or the day of your homecoming.

How do I know you are who you say you are?

This has actually come up a couple times and, while it’s reason is disheartening, I understand. You can find me all over social media, you can read the reviews left on my Facebook Pages, Yelp, Google, Thumbtack, the Testimonials on here. If you’re still unsure, please reach out and we can meet in town for a cup of coffee!
